LPPM
The laboratory of plasma physics & materials (LPPM) is located the school of packaging & printing engineering, inside the campus of Beijing institute of graphic communication, south of Beijing city, capital of P. R. China. LPPM was founded as early as1986. Now LPPM is involved in multidisciplinary research activities covering fundamental science of plasma physics, nano-materials science and to some extent technology applications. All these activities are grouped under the same umbrella of plasma physics & plasma processing.
Research area
We are seeking to hire a Postdoc to join LPPM. The lab encompasses a broad cross-section of the systems required for plasma physics and plasma applications: from novel plasma source design and development of plasma source for material studies, to applications at atmosphere environment, emission spectroscopy and plasma-wall interaction regions.
The research focus of the position could fall anywhere within the LPPM and will be driven by the candidate's interests and LPPM development priorities.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:
A recent PhD in a related discipline.
Relevant experience working in a research laboratory environment.
Knowledge of one or more of the following disciplines: plasma physics, plasma applications, ion beam transport, beam-matter interactions, plasma chemistry, OES diagnostic, nano-materials science, organic solar cells, atomic layer deposition.
Specific knowledge of relevant simulation software packages (FLUKA, COMSOL Multiphysics, ANSYS etc.) and CAD software (SolidWorks) would be a valuable asset.
Demonstrated experience in hands on experimentation and related areas such as applied computing or electronics, mechanical design principles, vacuum techniques or plasma instrumentation would be advantageous.
Strong English oral and written communication skills.
Initiative, self-motivation and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively within both, large and small teams, and with individuals from diverse and varying backgrounds and education/experience levels.
